Taylor Eugene Obe

d. November 22, 2013

Taylor Eugene Obe was born on June 29, 1982, in Marshall, to Randy and Sheree (Boe) Obe. He grew up in Minneota, was baptized into the Lutheran faith at Hope Lutheran Church, and graduated from Minneota High School in 2000. After graduation, Taylor worked at a few jobs before moving to Sioux Falls, where he has been living for the last 10 years. Taylor attended Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls, SD, where he graduated with a degree in information technology. He worked at the school and later for ELBO Computing Resources as an information systems analyst. Computers were Taylor’s passion. He also enjoyed hanging out with friends and family, playing golf, going to movies, singing karaoke and dancing. In February of 2013, Taylor was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. His cancer was in recession after a successful bone marrow transplant, until he suffered a relapse in October. Taylor died on Friday, November 22, 2013, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Taylor was a truly amazing person. He is the son you pray to have and the sibling, cousin and friend you dream of. Taylor was known for his quick wit, smile and fun personality. His smile was contagious and could brighten up any room. He had a way of making your day better and putting a smile on your face. He had a truly kind heart and would do anything for anyone. After his dad became ill, and while battling his own illness, Taylor stepped up to become the handyman of the household. He helped with everything from mowing to painting to cleaning and especially being there for his mom. This is just one of many examples that illustrate the great man that Taylor had become. He is survived by his mother, Sheree Obe, of Minneota, brother Travis of St. Louis Park, MN, and sister Tenille of Ghent, maternal grandparents, Wynston and Arla Boe of Minneota, many aunts and uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his father, Randy, in July of 2013. Memorials preferred to the Avera Cancer Institute of Sioux Falls, 1000 East 23rd, Sioux Falls, SD 57105
