Thomas R. Quigley age 94 of Tracy, MN died Sunday, February 10, 2008 at the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy. Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the Church of Christ in Tracy. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy, with a prayer service at 7:30 PM and continuing one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be at the Tracy City Cemetery. Thomas Richard Quigley was born December 27, 1913 to Thomas B. And Clara (Reinke) Quigley on the family farm in Springdale Township, Redwood County, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Church of Christ in Tracy, MN and attended Country School District #42 in Springdale Township. As a young man he worked on the farm with his family.
On September 30, 1944 Tom married Fannie Visker at the Church of Christ and they made their home on the family farm for a short time. They then moved to a farm northeast of Tracy and farmed until the mid 1960âs when they moved into Tracy. In 1967 Tom started the Tracy Sanitation Service and operated the business till 1977 when he sold it to his brother, George Quigley.
Tom was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and served as Deacon of the church in the past. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and keeping track of his grandchildren at many county and state fairs.
In January of 2008 Tom became a resident of the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy where he died Sunday, February 10, 2008 at the age of 94.
Tom is survived by his one daughter, Dorothy âDottieâ (Wayne) Tiedemann of Hull, IA; one son, Thomas A. Quigley of Tracy, MN; three grandchildren, David (Sherry) Tiedemann, Karen (Drew) Mosier and LeAnn (Jerris) Rensink, all of Hull, IA; seven great grandchildren; one brother, George (Tena) Quigley of Tracy, MN; three brothers-in-law, Jans (Mabel) Visker of Tracy, MN, Johnny (Joyce) Visker of Tracy, MN and Joe (Nicky) Visker of Coatsville, IN; two sisters-in-law, Jenni Haney and his brother, Georgesâ wife, Tena Quigley, both of Tracy, MN; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
His parents, wife, Fannie, one brother, Walter and his wife, Tena Quigley, two infant brothers, one brother-in-law, Hank Visker and three sisters-in-law, Marie DeYoung, Grace DeBlieck and Dorothy Kruger preceded him in death.
