The funeral service for Timothy âTimâ Corbitt, 72, of Balaton, will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Balaton. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. â 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. â 1:30 p.m. at the church. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
Timothy âTimâ Lawrence Corbitt was born on June 5, 1946, in Tyler, TX, to James and Mary (Geddie) Corbitt. He grew up and graduated from Arvin High School in Taft, CA. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After his service, he attended the Texas Christian University. He was married to Brenda Pitts and to this union were born Cheryl and Michael. Tim worked at a variety of jobs in Texas. He built and ran many car washes and worked as a fabricator for LTV Aerospace among other occupations. In 2007, he moved to Balaton. On June 9, he was married to Barb Metz. Tim enjoyed watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke. He also enjoyed cooking (and eating), loved doing church services at O'Brien Court in Tracy, and especially enjoyed fishing.
Tim died unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Barb, of Balaton, children Cheryl (and Bill) Weaver of Grand Prairie, TX and Michael (and Kelley) Corbitt of Ft. Worth, TX; step-children Michael Metz and Craig (and Wendy) Metz of Balaton; grandchildren James, Brandon, Lauren, and Spencer, step-grandchildren Tylar Noyes and Alissyn Metz; great-grandchildren Zach, Jeremiah, and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents.
