Vera Dorothy (Arfmann) was born on April 16, 1920, in Amiret, to Earl and Harmina (Voss) Arfmann. She grew up and attended grade school in Amiret and graduated from Marshall High School. On October 18, 1947, she was united in marriage to Richard Jueneman. The couple lived in Redwood Falls for a couple of years before moving to Marshall. Vera worked for Lyon County Services before beginning a 22 year career working for the Department of Agriculture as an Administrative Secretary. Vera was very active and volunteered for organizations including Prairie Home Hospice, the Catholic Daughters of America, the American Legion Auxiliary, Hospital Auxiliary and S.C.O.R.E. She enjoyed taking care of her lawn and gardening. Her friends were very important to her and she enjoyed socializing over a cup of coffee or lunch. Family was also very important. Vera enjoyed travelling to the Black Hills for family time and she really enjoyed the biannual family reunions. Vera especially enjoyed her three grandchildren that brought great joy to her life. She was later blessed with three great-grandchildren that showered her with hugs and kisses. Later in life, Vera became an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Twins, Vikings, PGA, or College Basketball and Football. In 2000, Vera moved to Hill Street Place where she thoroughly enjoyed her time with friends and other residents. Vera died on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.
She is survived by her children Rick (and Pamela) Jueneman of Marshall, Laurie Jueneman of Rochester, grandchildren Stephanie (and Will) Raines of Sioux Falls, SD, Anthony (and Amanda) Jueneman of Shakopee, Jennifer Jueneman of Minneapolis, great-grandchildren Keara Jueneman of Marshall, Keyana and Kileigh Jueneman of Sioux Falls, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard in 1966, and siblings Leonard Arfman, Evelyn Nash, Bud Arfman, Viola Corrow, Merle Arfman and Betty Norwood.
