Verva Ann Wiltrout

Verva Ann (Knight) Wiltrout was born September 10, 1921 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Stephen and Lilah (Rhomberg) Knight. She grew up in Minneapolis, graduating from Incarnation Grade School and Minneapolis Central High School. She worked in Minneapolis as a secretary for the Aetna Casualty & Surety Company and Radio Station WCCO. She and Irving J. Wiltrout were married in MinnEapolis on June 23, 1942. They lived in Minneapolis until moving to Marshall, MN in 1951 when her husband joined P.M. Meehl in the practice of law. She served as a leader for both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was an avid golfer and belonged to the Marshall Country Club since 1956, serving as president of the Ladies Association. For a number of years, she and her husband were involved with the Marriage Encounter Movement and served on teams for 5 years. She and her husband were Associates of the ScHool Sisters of Notre Dame for 25 years. She also served as a eucharistic minister, lector, and hospital minister for Holy Redeemer Parish. Verva and her husband moved to the Meadows, in Worthington, MN in May 2005 where she resided until April, 2007. Verva moved to the Minneota Manor, Minneota, MN, where she resided until her death at Avera Marshall Regional Medical center on October 17, 2007. She is survived by her two Sons, Jay and his wife Katherine of Maple Grove, and Joel and his wife Karen of Worthington, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, parents and brother. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Mankato and Prairie Home Hospice of Marshall.
