Victoria Hennen was born on February 18, 1916, in Marion, North Dakota, to Ernest and Louise (Beernaert) Loyson. She moved with her family to Ghent, MN, in 1923. She married Vincent Hennen in Ghent on December 27, 1939. They lived on a farm by Ghent until 1975 when they moved to Minneota, MN. In 1996, she moved to Hill Street Place in Marshall. In 2003, she moved to the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center. Torrie died on December 31, 2009, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center.
She was a member of St. Eloi parish and St. Annâs Altar Society, serving as president for one year. Torrie was also a member of the Ghent American Legion Auxiliary and the Grandview Township Extension Club. She enjoyed being with her family, playing cards, quilting, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her daughters; Louise (and Delmar) Schmidt of Milbank, SD, Marie (and Frank) Moorse of Marshall, Amy Hennen of St. Louis Park, MN, and Carolyn (and Les) Peterson of Minnetonka, MN, son Vincent Jr. (and Joan) Hennen of Alexandria, one sister Emma Hennen of Marshall. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nancy Schmidt, Lisa Willis, Kathy Tharp, Janet Bottelberghe, Dan, Diane, Mark and Carol Moorse, Denise Klosterman, Jill Peterson, Mathew, Kayla and Scott Hennen, great-grandchildren Amanda Schmieg, Brandon and Andrew Schmidt, Ashley, Tyler and Derrick Willis, Natasha, Tanner and Isabella Tharp, Kaitlin, Jacob and Allie Bottelberghe, Andrew, Matthew, Anna, Nate and Adam Moorse and one due in May, one great-great-granddaughter Brynlee Schmieg. She was preceded in death by her parents; Ernest and Louise, husband Vincent, three brothers; Hank, Art and Ray and twin infant granddaughters Cathy and Connie Schmidt.
