Vila B. Kramer age 88 of Tracy, MN died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy. Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 4, 2010 at St. Maryâs Catholic Church in Tracy. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy, with a rosary at 4:00 PM and a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday. The interment will be in the St. Michaelâs Catholic Cemetery in Milroy, MN following a luncheon after the service in Tracy. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.
Vila Bertha Kramer was born November 10, 1921 to Harrison and Ida (Koschnick) Schmiesing on a farm in Johnsonville Township, north of Walnut Grove, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended country school. Vila then attended Wabasso High School and after graduation she went to business college for a year in Minneapolis, MN.
On September 22, 1943 Vila married Clifford Kramer at St. Maryâs Catholic Church in Seaforth, MN. They made their home on a farm near Vesta, MN for a short time before moving to a farm south of Milroy for many years. They then moved to Osakis, MN for six years and in 1990, retired to Tracy, MN.
Vila was member of St. Maryâs Catholic Church in Tracy and in the past active in the church womenâs groups. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, cooking, baking, especially pies, and fishing. For many years they spent summers at their cabin on Maple Lake near Alexandria, MN and later they enjoyed wintering in Mesa, AZ.
In February of 2008 Vila became a resident of the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy, where she died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the age of 88.
Vila is survived by one son, Gary and Diane Kramer of Hastings, MN; two grandchildren, Eric (Melanie) Kramer of Hastings, MN and Stacy (Todd) Hauer of Lakeville, MN; three great grandchildren, Brooklyn Kramer, Anna and Sarah Hauer; three sisters-in-law, Fern Schmiesing of Tracy, MN, Lucille Ahrens of Minneapolis, MN and Peg Kramer of Hastings, MN; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Her husband, Clifford, one son, David, four brothers, Harrison, Howard, Harold and Russell Schmiesing and one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law preceded her in death.
