Violet Burczek

Violet was born on November 12, 1932, in Lincoln County to Herman and Hilma (Carlson) Rasmussen. Violet and Alexander Burczek were married at St. Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno on November 15, 1949. She was a homemaker for most of her married life, except for working for Schotts Corp from 1978 – 1980. Violet enjoyed sewing, collecting salt and pepper shakers, doing puzzles, arts and crafts, playing cards and writing poetry. Violet died on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at the Prairie Home Hospice House in Marshall. She is survived by her children Eileen Fuchs of Marshall, Donna (and Larry) Breczinski of Myrtle Beach, SC Bernie Burczek of Rapid City, SD, Marion Fish of Desert Hot Springs, CA, Linda (and Randy) Van Derostyne of Canby, Kathy (and Gary) Steinhoff of Sioux Falls, SD, 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and brother Lawrence Rasmussen of Benson, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alexander and brothers Arnold and Gene Rasmussen.
