Virginia Rose VanRobays was born on March 18, 1922, in Minneota to Anton and Cecelia (Plaster) Bromen. Virginia graduated from high school in Minneota and continued her education at St. Josephs School of Nursing in St. Paul and became a registered nurse. She spent 2 years as an army nurse during World War II. On June 15, 1946 she was united in marriage to Burton VanRobays in Marshall. Virginia was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Hospital Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Blood Mobile, Avera Morningside Heights Care Center and at Hill Street Place.
Virginia died on March 25, 2014, at her residence in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
She is survived by her son Paul (Nelda) of Katy, TX, daughter Patt (Larry) McLaughlin of Brookings, SD, sisters; Leona (John) Wielde, Doris (Don) Claeys, Cecelia (Erwin) Fier, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Howard Bromen and sister Joan (Norman) Bot.
