Wallace died on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, At his residence in Holiday , FL. He is survived by Esther, his wife of 54 years; children, Kenneth (Sheree) Hoffman of Eagan, Michael Hoffman of Minneota, Jeffrey Hoffman of Minneota, Grace (Steve) Pridal-Peters of Shakopee, Kristi(Russell) Leuthold of Excelsior, nine grandchildren, and sisters, Darlene Drietz of Holiday, FL, and Geraldine Panos of Spring Hill, Florida.
Wallace Hubert Hoffman was born on July 9, 1927, in Marshall , to Florian and Sophia (Schommer) Hoffman. He grew up and attended school in St. Leo and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1945. Wallace served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On May 4, 1954, he was united in marriage to Esther Citterman. The couple farmed and raised their family in MiNneota until their retirement in 1988. They purchased a home in Holiday, Florida , and split their time between Holiday and St. Leo. Wallace was an active member in the community, including the Yellow Medicine Country Extension Board, the Taunton Elevator, and the State Bank of Minneota. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Holiday and enjoyed volunteering at the Knights of Columbus. Wallace enjoyed playing cards, fishing at the cabin with his family, going to the casinos and riding his scooter through out the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Florian and Sophia Hoffman and his brother, Aelgene.
