Warren Tenhoff age 90 of Balaton, MN died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Avera-Marshall Medical Center in Marshall, MN. Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Balaton United Methodist Church in Balaton. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Thursday morning until 2:00 PM at the church. Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Balaton, with a luncheon served in the church social hall immediately following the burial. The Almlie Funeral Home of Balaton is handling the arrangements. Warren D. Tenhoff was born November 6, 1923 to Charles and Ruth (Holten) Tenhoff in Tyler, MN, Lincoln County. He was baptized and confirmed in the Balaton Presbyterian Church and attended Balaton Public Schools. He graduated from Balaton High School in 1941 and then enrolled in the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN for two years. In 1943 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served until 1946, when he returned to Minnesota. On June 6, 1947 Warren married Betty “Jane” Krause in the Tracy Episcopal Church. He returned to the U of M and completed his Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy in 1952. They made their home in Balaton after his graduation and owned and operated Tenhoff Drug from 1952 until his retirement in 1989. Warren was a member of the Balaton United Methodist Church and the Balaton Commercial Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. They continued to live in their home until after Jane’s death, he became a resident of the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Balaton in 2003. On Sunday, April 27, 2014 Warren died, with his family by his side, at the Avera-Marshall Medical Center in Marshall, MN at the age of 90. Warren is survived by his one daughter, Carol (Dale) MIller of Sauk Rapids, MN; one son, Thomas (Debra) Tenhoff of Mission Viejo, CA; three grandchildren, Michael (Morgan) Miller of St. Paul, MN, Nathan Miller of Sauk Rapids, MN and Brett Tenhoff of Mission Viejo, CA; one sister, Harriet Mason of Portland, OR; one niece; one nephew and many friends. His wife, Jane, his parents, and one infant sister preceded him in death.
