He attended school in Ivanhoe and graduated from Ivanhoe High School in the spring of 1968. Upon graduation he continued his education at Granite Falls VoTech attaining his degree Data Processing. Wayne was then drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Hawaii during the Vietnam War.

Wayne met the love of his life Gloria Miklos in early 1972. The couple was married on June 24, 1972 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax, MN. They started their family in New Ulm, MN until moving to Marshall, MN in 1977.

During his career Wayne trucked for 5 million miles throughout the United States. Upon retirement he began driving bus for the Marshall School District and Southwest Coaches.

Wayne enjoyed tropical vacations with his wife Gloria. He was an avid Minnesota sports fan and could often be caught listening to the Twins on the radio or cheering on the Vikings. He loved tinkering in his garage where there was a space for everything, and everything in its space. The garage became his favorite 4 o’clock happy hour spot. Wayne’s family was the most important thing in his life and he could often be found at his grandchildren’s activities.
