Wendell J. Trei

Wendell James Trei, 86, originally of Marshall, MN, lost his battle with dementia, surrounded by the love of his family at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, WA, on Saturday, November 23, 2019. Wendell was born on September 6, 1933, in Sibley, IA, to John and Emma (Vaupel) Trei and married his first wife, Eileen Cecilia DeBlieck on November 27, 1954. After Eileen’s passing in 2012, Wendell married his longtime family friend, Nancy Maxwell. He is survived by his children: Debra (and Bill) Post, Denise (and John) DeLanghe, James Trei, Jeff Trei, Donna (and Todd) Morse, Michael (and Sonja) Trei, and Marc (and Pia) Trei, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and four siblings. He was preceded in death by both of his wives: Eileen and Nancy; two children Dianne and Jon; two sons-in-law Marvin Lindberg and Greg DeLanghe and a grandson Jeremiah Trei. Wendell will be cremated and the family will hold a celebration of life in Tracy, MN, on December 7, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. with a luncheon to follow at The Caboose from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association through the “Wendell Trei” Tribute Page (http://tinyurl.com/WendellTrei).
