The funeral service for Wendy Lustfield, 48, of Balaton, will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Victory Christian Church in Balaton. Visitation will be at the church Thursday, June 2, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:15 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday one hour prior to the service, 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at the Russell Cemetery.
Wendy (Williams) Lustfield was born on July 6, 1973, in Marshall, to Richard and Melanie (Stenerson) Williams. She grew up in Russell where she enjoyed a carefree childhood surrounded by many cousins who worked and played together. She graduated from RTR High School in 1991. Wendy attended Southwest State University in Marshall for a couple of years. On July 24, 1993, she married James Lee. The couple was blessed with three children: Kelsey, Kristina and Miranda. Wendy worked for the Schwan Food Company for a couple of years before starting in-home daycare in Balaton in 1999. On June 5, 2010, she was united in marriage to her forever love, Robert “Bob” Lustfield. In 2015, she accepted a job with Ralco Nutrition where she worked until her cancer diagnosis in December of 2020.
She was an active member of Victory Christian Church in Balaton. Wendy loved worship and bible studies where her faith grew greatly. She and Bob enjoyed motorcycle riding and time at the family cabin in Alexandria. She also enjoyed playing cards, including heated games of Nutsy with her family. She was very fond of time spent with family including shopping with her girls, playing bean bags, and spending as much time with her grandchildren as she could.
Wendy died on Friday, May 27, 2022, at her residence in Balaton, under the care of Prairie Home Hospice. She is survived by her husband, Bob of Balaton, daughter Kelsey (and Josh) Eide of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter Kristina (and Jarrad) Emery of Sioux Falls, SD, grandchildren Walter and Melanie; daughter Miranda (and Scott) Antony of Porter, grandson Wyatt; step-son Christopher Lustfield of Volga, SD; father Richard Williams of Russell; brother Lyle (and Marilyn) Williams, brother Scott (and Terri) Williams and sister Melissa (and Jason) Janssen, all of Russell, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Melanie.
