William âBillâ Larson was born on March 24, 1942, at home in Redwood County to Hans and Florence (Klante) Larson. He graduated from Belview High School in 1960. Bill served in the U.S. Army for two years, returning in 1962. On November 7, 1964, he was united in marriage to Lucille Nesteby. To this union were born two children: Larry in 1965 and DâAnn in 1968. Bill worked for the City of Marshall until retirement in 1998. After retirement, the couple wintered for many years in Pleasant Harbor, Arizona. Bill loved to golf. After retirement, if he wasnât playing a round, he was working as a groundskeeper at the course. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially following his grandchildrenâs sporting activities.
Bill died on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota. He is survived by his wife, Lucy, of Marshall, children Larry (and Myndi) of Trent, SD, and DâAnn of Marshall, grandchildren Jeff, Sam, Bridgett, Brittany and Dan, twin-brother Bob and sisters Mavis Castle, Lois Nielsen and Vonnie Geiser, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Marvel Jensen, Jim and Merv Larson, Doris Schmidt, Carol Ross and Delores Larson in infancy.
