Quinn Horvath grew up in Mason City, IA. He attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis where he obtained his BS Degree with a major in Mortuary Science. Upon graduation in 1992, he took a job at the Rehkamp Funeral Homes in Marshall and Minneota.
He met and married Kari Swedzinski from Minneota and the couple now have four children. Quinn purchased the funeral home from Paul and Jack Rehkamp in 2004. In addition to working at the funeral home, Quinn enjoys following his kids' activities, exercising and spending time with his wife. He is involved with several community organizations.
Alyssa (Bossuyt) Jeppesen grew up in Ghent, MN, and graduated from Marshall Senior High School in 2013. She achieved a BA Degree from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, MN. She is a 2018 graduate of the Mortuary Science program at Des Moines Area Community College. Alyssa began working at Horvath Funeral Service as a Funeral Director's Assistant in 2017 and has been a licensed Funeral Director since August 2019.
Alyssa married Bryce Jeppesen in July 2020, and the couple resides in Minneota with their dog, Mack. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys cheering on her husband and the Minneota High School football and basketball teams, as well as spending time with her family. For the past several years, she has served as the chair of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Lyon County, where she has been a lifelong team member.
Betsy Jo (Bossuyt) Kack grew up on a farm north of Marshall, graduated from Marshall Senior High School and SMSU. Betsy Jo is married to Minneota native, Corey Kack and they have two daughters.
Betsy Jo has been very active with the American Cancer Society for many years and is a lector at St Eloi Church in Ghent, where she has been a life-long member. She enjoys gardening, walking and cooking in her spare time, when not following her daughters around the state, and beyond, for their activities. Betsy Jo started in her Pre-Planner position in 2015, having over 20 years past experience in the financial industry.
Janet (Hennen) Differding grew up and lives on a farm north of Ghent, graduated from Minneota Public High School, Minnesota West Community and Technical College and Southwest Minnesota State University.
Janet is married to Greg Differding, has three children and four grandchildren. Janet is an active member of St. Edward Church in Minneota. She enjoys time spent with family, running, gardening, scrapbooking and cooking outdoors. Janet started her position in 2015.
Dave Olafson grew up in Minneota and graduated from Minneota High School. He attended Canby Vocational Technical School and earned his degree in Accounting. Dave worked for The Schwan Food Company and retired in 2022. Dave joined Horvath Funeral Service as a Funeral Director’s Assistant in October 2021. He enjoys working at Horvath with staff members and providing support to families who have recently experienced the death of a loved one.
Dave is married to Margaret (Polfliet) Olafson and they reside in Marshall. We have one child, Blaise who is married to Desiree and live in Rosemount, MN. Dave is an active member at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where he is a lector, along with other volunteer opportunities. Dave and Margaret stay active with biking, hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing and spending time with family.
Gene Fodness was born and raised in the Minneota area. After a career in sales that brought him through Sunnyvale, CA, and Chicago, IL, Gene retired and returned to his home in Minneota where he is enjoying his retirement years working on the farm. He is an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota. Gene has been assisting with the funeral home since 2004.
John Allen has been a member of the Marshall community for the past fifty years. He is a retired educator with the Marshall Public Schools and has been a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church since 1972. He is an enthusiastic supporter of Prairie Home Hospice and appreciates the opportunity to work with Horvath Funeral Service in order to serve others in their time of need.
Rick was raised in Marshall and graduated from MHS. After pursuing an education in nurse anesthesia he returned to Marshall with his wife Pam and practiced anesthesia for 40 years retiring in 2021. His interests include travel, golf, and volunteering and presently serves on the Board of Directors for Praire Home Hospice.
